The Legacy

A cinematic documentary capturing the legacy of aging hunters, focused on mentorship, conservation, and the preservation of knowledge before it disappears.

This film shadows three men, ages 68, 82 and 97. Together and with over over 200 years of hunting knowledge, ethics, and connection to the land.

One man, trying to fulfill  a 50 year old vow to his grandfather. A vow he knows he cannot complete without the help of his friends begins this story. As a moose hunt becomes something deeper. A story about legacy, conservation, and the responsibility to carry it forward.

ABOUT THE FILM

ABOUT THIS DOCUMENTARY

This film is more than an outdoor story or a hunting story. At its heart, it’s a story about legacy, friendship, craftsmanship, perseverance, and keeping a promise alive after someone is gone.

The film follows two men who complete a handcrafted canoe designed by a grandfather who passed away before he could finish it himself. Once the grandson and friend complete the canoe, they take it down a famous Idaho river on a moose hunt. Only knowing without a third mans help, the moose hunt would fail —turning the journey into both an adventure and a tribute.

WHAT MAKES THIS PROJECT UNIQUE

Its authenticity.

Nothing is manufactured for the camera.

The emotions, the work, the environment, and the relationships are all real. Audiences today are overwhelmed with content, but they still respond strongly to stories that feel genuine and human. This film delivers that naturally.

Aging Hunters

JOIN THEIR STORY

From a sponsorship standpoint, the project offers something increasingly difficult to find:

These resonate far beyond hunting or outdoor communities.

  • Mentorship
  • Intergenerational storytelling
  • Wilderness
  • Authenticity.

THE DEEPER PURPOSE

Time is the one thing these men don’t have more of.

What they carry, the stories, the lessons, the judgment, cannot be replaced once it’s gone.

This film is an effort to preserve that knowledge, honor it, and pass it forward.
