THE LEGACY
This story was brought to me by Steve, a retired big game wildlife biologist when he asked me to record a moose hunt.
Not really my kind of story to document. After all there has to be a million hunting videos out there. Then I started researching the two friends Steve needed for this “journey of a lifetime”. Then I found out the true reason Steve wanted this hunt documented and It had nothing to do with a moose hunt.
Let’s just say, a vow he made decades earlier had to be honored and the more I learned, the more I realized these aren’t ordinary guys and I had to tell this story.
THE BOISE RIVER
This was meant to be a short "Nugget" video about the beautiful Boise River. Unfortunately I discovered the Boise Rivers natural ecosystem was dying.
How I found out about this issue came from a walk on the Green Belt one day. A group of people at Veterans Memorial Park were planting hundreds of seeds in trays. After asking what they were doing I could almost hear the Boise River crying.
THE TRANSLOCATION
Imagine you have a cattle ranch in Idaho set right in the foothills of mountains. With so much grass you can cut it to feed cattle throughout the winter. Where every spring and fall a herd of elk migrates right through your ranch.
Such a beautiful sight to see. Oh, and it makes it super easy to get one during hunting season too if you desire.
But what happens when the herd of elk discovers that grass is here in the winter too? What happens when the elk realize that grass is literally here… always? Well in that case, there’s no reason to leave… EVER!
